Hello, I am Ashley, Mama to Boy-Wonder, Eli who joins me on
my adventure as a transplant to New Orleans, LA. Some of you will remember, this blog started
in Brooklyn, NY reporting on the trials and tribulations of an unexpected
“geriatric” pregnancy while navigating demands of a self-centered ex-boyfriend
and ailing mother who eventually passed away.
Four years later the “self-centered ex” surprises us all with
his rise to “amazing co-parent” status.
Together - though apart - we work to raise the budding
rock-star/scientist/comedian/commentator in a new city with a new outlook on
most things. Fertile Myrtle Avenue,
Brooklyn, has moved to Crepe Myrtle-lined, New Orleans - a lot has
changed. A lot has stayed the same. This blog is impetus to find myself in the 40+ work week somewhere between throwing dinner together, bath tub sing-along, laundry, boyfriend, parades, friends, current affairs, festivals, and remembering that it’s “Foreign Country” day at pre-k (whatever that means). The trials and tribs are different than 4 years ago, but the goal is the same:
Prepare a human for the world by trying to make him a good person and continue to work on the things that make me one.
